Mr Oliver Bazzani will provide insight into about how taking your research into start-ups or entrepreneurial ventures can provide an alternate or complimentary avenue to academia.
A/Prof Amanda Neil has been creating meaning and driving impact by building capacity for lived experience research, and will share how activities other than publication have helped her find her place.
Prof Stephen Wood will speak about finding your way in a traditional academic career, and how he balances his values with achievement.
Prior to the event, EMCRs have the opportunity to submit questions for the panel, including ‘You can’t ask that’ style questions on tough topics you may be afraid to ask about. Questions will also be taken on the day.
The second half of the event will facilitate connections to People. Attendees will have the opportunity to network with the panellists, and other attendees.
Prior to the event, registered attendees will be asked to nominate two topics that they would be interested in finding connections within (e.g., digital interventions, health economics, clinical trials, implementation science, etc). Each attendee will receive email addresses for those they have been matched with and will be encouraged to meet up over the course of the conference (because having a buddy at morning coffee can be fun!).
