Workshop Description:

It is expected that Ledermix Paste and Ledermix Cement will return to the market in mid-2018. These materials have been used clinically for over 55 years with numerous research papers and clinical studies to support their efficacy and usefulness. The major components of these materials are a corticosteroid and an antibiotic - hence, their indications for use should be based on these components. The major use for Ledermix Paste in root canal treatment is to reduce inflammation and thereby reduce or avoid pain and to manage inflammatory resorption. It can also be used to manage infected canals, particularly if used in conjunction with calcium hydroxide. Ledermix Cement is an extremely useful material for conservative pulp treatments such as pulp capping and pulpotomies. Its short-term anti-inflammatory action combined with the beneficial effects of the cement base components (i.e. calcium hydroxide and zinc oxide-eugenol) make it an ideal material for these procedures. This session will discuss the scientific basis for the use of Ledermix Paste and Ledermix Cement as well as providing clinical guidelines for when and how to use them.

Workshop Description:

Whether you are an enthusiastic new graduate dentist or an experienced specialist, root canal treatment is difficult. But we are fortunate to practise in an era where there are so many tools available to help with our treatment.

The introduction of root canal preparation with a reciprocating action and gold wire files has revolutionised root canal preparation. Even for clinicians who normally use hand files and are concerned about the learning curve associated with motorised root canal preparation systems.

This talk will discuss the latest gadgets which help make location of calcified root canals and their preparation easier. Attendees will also have the opportunity to use the new Wave one Gold Glider and the Wave one Gold reciprocating preparation system during the hands on training session.

Learning Objectives:

After the course attendees will have:

  • a better understanding of how to locate and prepare calcified canals
  • improved knowledge about the tools available to make location and preparation of calcified canals easier
  • an improved understanding of glide path preparation using the Wave one Gold Glider
  • had hands on training using the Wave one Gold root canal preparation system
