Biography

A/Professor John Yaxley is one of Australia's most experienced urological surgeons in the management of prostate cancer, including robotic radical prostatectomy, brachytherapy and focal therapy. He is an Associate Professor at the University of Queensland with over 150 peer reviewed published manuscripts, including the world’s first randomised trial comparing robot-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy to the open surgical technique. A/Prof Yaxley is currently involved in the academic teaching program of medical students and is also a surgical supervisor for urology training registrars at the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital.

Professor Daniel Galvão is Director of the Exercise Medicine Research Institute and Professor in the School of Medical and Health Sciences at Edith Cowan University. His research program focuses on applications of exercise as medicine for the prevention and management of prostate cancer treatment side effects and survival.

Biography

Professor Howard Lau is a Urologist with a special interest in complex renal tumours and minimally invasive renal and prostate surgery. He is the Head of Department in Urology and Robotic Surgery at Westmead Public and Westmead Private Hospital. He has been accredited for being a Pioneer in Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgery having performed a number of Australia’s first including the first Robotic renal transplant in Australia in 2019.
